In 2006, Ram Pothineni made his acting debut in the Telugu Film Industry with the Devadasu movie. The film was a blockbuster hit at the box office and Ram earned praise for his performance.
In 2007, Ram worked with director Sukumar’s Jagadam movie where Ram played the role of Seenu, a young man who gets involved in a gang war and received mixed reviews.
In 2008, Ram acted in Srini Vaitla’s Ready movie, a romantic-comedy film in which Ram played the role of Chandu, a carefree and fun-loving young man. The film was a commercial success and won three Nandi Awards. Ram next acted in the Maska movie but the movie became a dud at the box office.
Ram then delivered back to back hits with Ganesh (2009), Rama Rama Krishna Krishna (2010), and Kandireega (2011). Later in 2012, Ram acted in the Endukante Premanta movie along with Tamanna Bhatia but the film failed to impress.
Ram next acted in various films like Ongole Githa (2013), Masala (2013), Pandaga Chasuko (2015), Shivam (2015), and Expect Ongole Githa remaining all movies became duds at the box office.
Later, Ram acted in the Nenu Sailaja (2016) movie and The film is a commercial success by collecting Rs 20 crore share at the box office. Ram then acted in a few hit films like Vunnadhi Okkate Zindagi (2017), Hello Guru Prema Kosame (2018), iSmart Shankar (2019), Red (2021), and The Warriorr (2022).
