Career:
Varun grew up in a family of actors and filmmakers. His father Nagendra Babu is a well-known actor & producer in Telugu cinema, while his uncles, Chiranjeevi, and Pawan Kalyan, are two of the biggest stars in the industry. Varun Tej was always interested in acting and knew from a young age that he wanted to follow in his family’s footsteps.
Varun Tej started his acting career in the year 2014 with the film Mukunda, a family drama directed by Srikanth Addala. In the film, Varun played the lead role of Mukunda, a young man who strives to protect his family & loved ones from the atrocities of a powerful and corrupt politician. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film was a commercial success and marked the beginning of Varun Tej’s career in the Telugu film industry.
He then starred in “Kanche” in 2015, a war drama directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. In the film, Varun played the role of Dhupati Haribabu, a young soldier who falls in love with a girl from a different caste. The film explores the themes of casteism, war, and love, and Varun Tej’s performance received widespread praise from critics and audiences alike.
