Pawan Kalyan made his debut in 1996 with the film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi, which was a huge commercial success. Pawan next acted in Gokulamlo Seetha (1997) movie. However, it was his third film Tholi Prema (1998), that established him as a leading actor in Telugu cinema. The film was a blockbuster hit and won National Award (Best Feature Film in Telugu) and six Nandi Awards that year.
Pawan Kalyan continued to deliver blockbuster hits with films like Thammudu (1999), Badri (2000), and Kushi (2001). With the Kushi movie, Pawan scored his first Industry Hit in Telugu Film Industry. In 2003, Pawan made his directorial debut with Johnny movie, which became a dud at the box office.
Pawan next acted in various movies like Gudumba Shankar, Shankar Dada M.B.B.S (cameo), Balu, Bangaram, Annavaram, and Shankar Dada Zindabad (Cameo), but all those movies failed to reach expectations.
In 2008, Pawan worked with Trivikram Srinivas in the Jalsa movie, the film became huge at the box office and ended as the highest-grosser of that year in Tollywood. Later, Pawan acted in a few movies like Puli, Teen Maar, and Panjaa, but none of those movies satisfied his fans and audience.
In 2012, Pawan Kalyan acted in the Gabbar Singh movie, which is the official remake of the Bollywood Super hit movie Dabangg. The film successfully run at the box office and stood as the 2nd highest grosser of Tollywood at that time. Later that year, Pawan acted in the Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu movie under Puri Jagannath’s direction.
In 2013, Pawan worked with Trivikram after Jalsa for the Attarinitiki Daredi movie, which was another massive commercial success. Despite privacy issues, The film ended as the Highest grosser in Tollywood at the that by crossing the Magadheera movie.
Since then, Pawan worked in various movies like Gopala Gopala, Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Katamarayudu, Agnyaathavaasi, Vakeel Saab, and Bheemla Nayak, but failed to score commercial success at the box office.
Apart from his acting career, Pawan Kalyan has also been actively involved in politics. He founded the Jana Sena Party in 2014 and has been vocal about various political and social issues. He has also taken up various philanthropic activities and is known for his charitable work.
