Prashanth Neel aka Prashanth Neelakantapuram is a popular Indian director and writer who has made a significant contribution to Kannada cinema. Prashanth was in a Telugu family on June 4, 1980, in Hassan, Karnataka to Subhash Neelakantapuram and Bharathi. He has a younger sister Vidya.
Prashanth Neel grew up in a middle-class family who hails from Neelakantapuram village, Madakasira Mandal, Sri Satya Sai district, Andhra Pradesh, and settled in Bangalore.
On 5th May 2010, Prashanth married Likhitha and the couple has a daughter named Sarayu born on 26th Jan 2014 and a son named Rayansh Neel born on 10th Jan 2017.

Initially, Prashanth was not interested in filmmaking to earn money he chooses this field. He then did a course on filmmaking, and during that time he got interested in it. Later, Prashanth started developing the Ugramm script and want to cast his brother-in-law & actor Sriimurali (Neel’s sister Vidhya’s husband).
In 2014, Prashanth Neel made his first film ‘Ugramm’ starring Sriimurali. The film was a massive blockbuster hit at the box office and become one of the highest-grossing movies in 2014.
KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) Franchise:
Prashanth Neel’s second film, KGF: Chapter 1, released on 21 December 2018, was a massive success and emerged as All Time Industry Hit in Kannada cinema by collecting more than 250 crores gross at the box office.
The film starred Rocking Star Yash in the lead role and was noted for its impressive production values, stunning visuals, and gripping storyline. With the success of the film, everyone turned their eyes to sandalwood.
In 2022, KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) Franchise’s second part KGF: Chapter 2 was released and emerged as one of the Highest grossing movies in the Indian Film Industry only next to Dangal, Baahubali The Conclusion and RRR.
KGF Chapter 2 broke many records in every corner of the country and collected close to 1200 crore gross at the worldwide box office.
Currently, Prashanth working on the upcoming Telugu film Salaar starring Prabhas in the lead role. The entire Indian Film Industry is eagerly waiting for this movie.
